Zalo OA

The Zalo OA channel connects a token-based Zalo bot to a RealTimeX workspace.

Open the setup flow from Settings > Channels > Add Channel > Zalo.

What you need

Before you configure the channel in RealTimeX, create a Zalo bot and obtain its token.

The current flow expects:

  • a Zalo bot token
  • a target workspace
  • an optional thread
  • an optional display name

Create the Zalo bot

The current in-app guide points to the Zalo bot creation flow:

  1. Open the Zalo app on your device.
  2. Find the OA named Zalo Bot Manager.
  3. Use Zalo Bot Creator.
  4. Create a bot name that starts with Bot, for example Bot MyShop.
  5. Finish the required details.
  6. Copy the bot token you receive after creation.

RealTimeX also links to the Zalo Bot Platform documentation during setup.

Connect it in RealTimeX

  1. Open Settings > Channels.
  2. Click Add Channel.
  3. Choose Zalo.
  4. Paste the bot token.
  5. Click Test.
  6. Choose the workspace that should receive the chats.
  7. Optionally choose a specific thread.
  8. Optionally set a display name.
  9. Click Create Zalo bot.

If the new channel is stopped, start it from the plugin card.

How to use it

After the plugin is running:

  1. Open the Zalo bot conversation from the Zalo side.
  2. Send a first message.
  3. If the channel requires approval, review it in Pairing Codes.
  4. Continue chatting after approval.

Use the Users tab to revoke individual access later without deleting the whole channel.

Settings you can change later

The current Settings view lets you change:

  • display name
  • default thread routing
  • agent whitelist

Important limitations

  • Workspace assignment is fixed after creation.
  • The current Settings view does not expose token replacement.

If the bot token changes, create a new Zalo OA channel with the new token, verify it, then remove the old one.

Troubleshooting

The token test fails

Recheck the token that came from the Zalo bot creation flow before continuing.

The channel exists but never answers

Check:

  • the plugin status is running
  • any required approval request was accepted
  • you are messaging the correct Zalo bot

You need to change the workspace later

Recreate the channel. Workspace is read-only after the plugin is created.
